Puerto Princesa Vice Mayor Marciada House Raided;Shabu and Firearms discovered

Authorities discovered 30 sachets of shabu and heavy firearms in a raid at the house of Vice Mayor Luis Marcaida III of Puerto Princesa City.

Members of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Puerto Princesa PNP and Palawan Provincial Police Office conducted the raid around 6 in the morning at Marcaida’s home on Jacada Road, Barangay Bancao Bancao, Puerto Princesa City.
The raiding team is led by P/Supt Enrico Rigoros.
The drug raid was based on a search warrant issued by Hon. Reynaldo Alhambra, Executive Judge, City of Manila.
The authorities only wanted to serve the search warrant to the Vice Mayor, but when they discovered the heavy firearms and shabu, they decided to arrest Marcaida.
Police also said that the raid were witnessed by two Barangay chairman and members of media.
Narcotics were found beside the portrait inside Marcaida’s house.
One .22 cal rifle, three rifle grenades, one fragmentation grenade, and four  .45 cal. pistols were the weapons confiscated by the authorities.
The authorities already planning to file a case against Marcaida for violating the Republic Act 9165.
The Vice Mayor had been identified by the PNP as a “high value target” in the war on drugs of President Duterte.
Marcaida is only one of the hundred public officials arrested by PNP since the Duterte administration’s war on drugs started.
